  • 36" Qee Maori Warrior by JPK

I've just received an email from Toy2R and noticed that my Maori Warrior Qee is now available to pre-order on the Qeeworld site.
These 36 inch fibreglass behemoths are a serious addition to any collection or gallery and are made to order.
...and here I'm proud to add a full photo of him;-

    null

These are limited to just 36 pieces and are $2,800 apiece.

    From Toy2R;-
Maori warriors were fierce, undaunted warriors. With their guerrilla tactics and their typical close-combat, carved weapons they were masters of surprise attacks and ambushing. Their territories were never conquered by other nations. Jon-Paul Kaiser now brings his depiction of the Maori Warrior in the latest 36” Artist Qee release.

Limited to only 36 pieces worldwide, this piece will be an incredible milestone to Kaiser’s work of art, just like the Maori it will stand strong, protecting his territory forever.

Bring home the Maori Warrior and the history that surrounds this great culture.

    Thanks!

  • Custom Works in Progress.

Not something I often do, but here's a work in progress shot of a couple of customs I'm currently painting up at my desk (at work).
So not too much is given away, I've taken a very blurry shot of them both.
    Reveals soon...

  • Captain Sturnbrau!

Toy2R have just posted up this image on their Qeeworld site, previewing the production sample for the black & white version of my Captain Sturnbrau figure;-

    null

    Here's his tale;-

    Pirate Captain, aka Captain Stūrnbrau.
Scourge of the Captain of the dreaded floating hulk; The Whispering Corsair. For time immemorable, land-lubbers and sailors alike dare not speak the ship’s true name which slipped past memory and into legend.
For centuries the Captain had plied the oceans voyaging into new and undiscovered lands. They disappear for years at a time, only for stories to reach civilisation of raids on settlements and pitiless attacks on ships.
No-one knows what dark sorcery keeps Captain Stūrnbrau and his unholy crew alive, only that they strive to fathom the answers to questions they have long forgotten…

A lot of development went into this guy, he's an original sculpt (my first) and scaled to fit in with the Mini-Qee family.
Several rounds of sculpts and amends were gone through, then several paint samples, including some samples hand-painted by myself as a guide for the factory to use with their printing.
    He's coming out very soon!

    Thanks,
    jonpaulkaiser

  • Icons Show featured on Hypebeast!

The recent Icons Show, hosted at the Full Circle Gallery in Leeds by the Hang Gang has been featured on the very prestigious Hypebeast trend/style/fashion website. It's a regular read of mine and a fantastic site.
Here's the shot from the page and a link to the post;-

  • Beware of Tall Grass show

As promised, here's the reveal of my custom Mini-Munny for the Beware of Tall Grass show at Kidrobot London tomorrow night, curated by Fadeworks (aka Elliott).

    null

He's the Crown Prince of the Undersea Kingdom, challenging his older sibling (my custom for the Blamo toys Swampy show) for the crown once their father has passed. Younger and stronger he's exiled his brother to the swamplands and remains ever vigilant against incursions from the swampland rebels.

He'll be for sale at the show and I believe there should be an online sale as well, if so I'll post up a link.
Here's the poster for the show;-

  • My custom for the Sneaky Crypt show.

Last Friday was quite a busy date for UK toy collectors; as well as the Icons show in Leeds, Sneaky Raccoon was also celebrating her fifth anniversary in the toy arena with a charity show hosted at the Kidrobot London store. Unfortunately because of the date clash I couldn't attend the show though I did have a custom as part of it.
As it was a charity show, between 10%-100% (at each artist's discretion) was donated to MacMillan Cancer Support.
It looked like a grand and busy event (Clutter took plenty of great shots - well worth checking their Flickr) and here's my little chappie for the show;-

    null

This is Isaac the Lonely Cyclops.
Nobody wants to play with Isaac, he sits in the playground on his own submerged in a world of fantasy full of cranes, tanks and things with tentacles. One day he sloped down to the crypt to sit by the tombstones to enjoy the peace and quiet. Little did he know that in doing this he would get more than he bargained for by finding the friends he had always wanted and who were quite like him in every way.

    Thanks!
